When it comes to the warehousing and manufacturing industries, the forklift application all over the world has continued to grow. The forklift is a motorized truck designed specifically for lifting and moving things. The equipment has slowly evolved and these days there are many modern designs for moving and lifting things. Over the past decades, the machinery has significantly grown and the designs have changed so there are a variety of trucks and a lot of modern designs to suit each particular application. Loads are capable of lifting and reaching to greater heights than ever before.

Lift truck units are offered in a large variety of different power types including: diesel, gasoline, electric, diesel and LP or liquid propane units. The load capacities of these models range greatly as there are many manufacturers designing and building them. For instance, some units are able to reach a height of over 3000 mm or more than 10,000 kg.

The forklift truck features include an overhead guard, mast and axles, the counterweight, and the frame of the truck to which the base of the power source and all aforementioned items are attached. On the back side there is a counterweight attached to the truck. This counterweight counterbalances the cargo that is being lifted in order to keep the equipment stable.

The equipment's movements are dictated by the operator who sits in the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof made to protect the operator from falling objects. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the frame and the mast. These tilts turn the mast in order to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly which raises and lowers the cargo with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

There are many businesses and warehouses in the manufacturing fields which utilize forklifts for lifting and transportation every day. Today, there are a lot of different used and brand new forklifts offered in the market at competitive prices. Those who rely on transportation and occasional lifting can use rental lift trucks because they are also available.
