During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed a lot of customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Due to the economic slump in the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers all around the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
The Bi-Energy and DC machinery provided by Genie offers emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine needs to be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
