Performance
The performance of the machine is the overall result of how well the machinery functions and works together. The machine's overall effectiveness is determined by a combination of capacity, user-friendliness, visibility and lifting speed.
The working hydraulics and the engine go through extreme lifting and this puts intense demands on the equipment. The lifting component is only a part of the operating cycle. Prior to the machine being able to unload or load, the demands are placed on effective brakes, tight turning radius with high pulling process and precise control. All of these functions must be able to work in an optimum manner, even after heavy usage.
Engine
Each unit of empty container handlers are equipped with straight six cylinder turbo charged engines which are equipped with intercooler. The engines are adapted to the specific working conditions of empty container handling. These conditions include high power and high torque levels at low engine speeds.
The engines of existing units follow the stringent legal environmental demands that are now within the industry. The engines provide low noise and vibration levels, low exhaust emission levels, low fuel consumption characterize all engine options.
Transmission
All container handlers have been made with extremely durable hydrodynamic transmission systems. For fast acceleration with a minimum of "clutch-slip" the transmission has included gearbox and torque converter. The gear changing is electrically achieved via solenoid valves. These offer 3 reverse and 3 forward gears that are controlled by means of an easily operated multifunction lever.
Drive Axle
The rugged drive axles have engineered to handle the different working settings in terminals and ports. All axles have reduction in 2 stages - differential and hub reduction. These features ensure a minimum of strain on the transmission system. Moreover, the drive axles are fitted with a hydraulic braking system.
Service Brake System
Wet Disc Brakes which have oil cooled discs that are alternately fixed to and rotating with the hub equip all empty container handlers. Once the brakes are engaged, the discs are pressed together by hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal. This offers efficient braking to the model. The system is practically maintenance free and is able to cope with heavy loads over a long period of time. This system requires no need for brake adjustments and offers no fade.
