Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator a safe and efficient place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major study of operators' working conditions. The main objective is to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is really comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential information, so as to keep the operator working as effectively as she or he could.
Thanks to the insulated mounting to the chassis, vibration levels and overall noise levels are kept low. The controller's seat and the hydraulic controls are all independently adjustable to be able to maintain an optimum working position. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 easy to operate, ergonomically positioned multi-functioned levers that are offered for the window washers, horn, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, heating and cooling. As an additional option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Standard instrumentation consists of: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is among the important options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These units make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any errors that take place and their current values.
