Propane cylinders are designed to take up really little space and can be kept inside the storage area or in an outdoor facility. It does take some time to switch out a propane cylinder, although, it still does requires operator training in order to be conducted safely and also require knowledge of safety standards like the Occupational Health and Safety Administration or OSHA.
Compared to the electric truck, internal combustion lift trucks are faster and easier to refuel. Then again, the internal combustion engine does produce polluting emissions and are really noisy.
NARROW-AISLE LIFT TRUCKS
The ITA's Class 2 trucks include a large range of electric forklifts and these are specially designed to be used in narrow aisles. The standard storage aisles are 12 feet wide, and this easily enables a counterbalanced lift truck to turn in the aisle and put a load away. Typically, the very narrow aisles are roughly 5.5 to 6 feet wide, whereas narrow aisles are 8 feet wide. These narrow aisles need specialized lift trucks that can put away cargo which are small enough to turn on a tight radius or without any turning at all.
Turret trucks, order pickers and reach trucks are 3 of the most common narrow-aisle lift trucks. The differences amongst these lift trucks are discussed below.
Narrow-Aisle Reach Trucks
The original narrow-aisle lift truck is considered to be the traditional reach truck. These machinery do not need a big counterweight and are thus, small enough to turn in narrow aisles. Instead, stability is provided by the outrigger arms that extend in front of the forklifts. Then again, depending on the storage configuration, these outrigger arms could prevent the trucks from getting near enough to the storage rack to deposit and retrieve cargo. To be able to overcome this situation, a pantograph was designed. The pantograph is actually a reach truck which is designed with a telescoping device. This allows forks to easily and concisely reach into storage locations.
The ideal environment for a narrow-aisle lift truck is a place which has good lighting, is clean, and has good traffic flow, well-maintained floors, as well as a sufficient turning aisle.
These types of machines have changed the material handling industry. Toyota stands behind their commitment to offering very durable machinery and excellent quality. As the business evolves, they continually strive to implement solutions so as to offer their diverse client base with the best products available.
