The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices in the work area. The audible device can end up contributing to OSHA noise limitation and to employee noise exposure; thus, care must be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices could occasionally get disabled from workers and operators since they can find them irritating. As well, audible devices could also be objectionable to residents in the vicinity.
Additional Operator & Application Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To be able protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are used to help avoid injuries and lessen other problems. Furthermore, these cabs feature an emergency exit through removing the window. Noise levels are lessened at the operator's ear due to additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: The operator is able to choose the performance need for the specific use. Moreover, it enables a supervisor to set the model's maximum performance for an operator who is just beginning to learn. Being able to reduce and adjust the maximum performance of the unit enables a new operator to learn the operating characteristics of the equipment in a controlled environment.
Impact Monitor: The impact monitor deactivates the unit and when this happens, it requires a supervisor to re-enable and override the model. This encourages the operator to be sure to manage the equipment in a more controlled way.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These particular mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
