Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machinery as they pick up and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads utilizing these machinery. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can operate in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of machine during cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
