Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Pomona

Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Pomona

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized to move products and materials around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that could raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

To prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated carefully. Machine should be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet should be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.

To release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you because the momentum could cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
