The Liebherr family business was started in the year 1949 by Hans Liebherr. The company first gained fame from its mobile tower crane which was well-known for its ease of assembly and affordability. It was upon this invention that the foundation of the company flourished under. Today, Liebherr has grown to become among the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment. The company has also earned the reputation of being the accredited provider of user-oriented technically innovative services and products in different fields. Liebherr Group's holding company is Liebherr-International AG. Liebherr-International AG is situated in Bulle, Switzerland and is operating by members of the Liebherr family. Now, the family business is being managed in the second generation by Dr. H.C. Willi Liebherr and his sister Dr. H.C. Isolde Liebherr. Ever since 2012, several of the active individual divisions have been represented by 3rd generation members of the family such as: Stefanie Wohlfarth, Patricia Ruf, Jan Liebherr and Sophie Albrecht. These members of the family have been working hard together to be able to help set up the family business' course in the future. They are staying on top of residential buildings and large-scale industrial projects all over the world.
Hans Liebherr began to build his company in the year 1949, in a tiny town called Kirchdorf in southern Germany. Kirchdorf, currently supports among Liebherr's 20 manufacturing locations.
