In order to be a successful model, a forklift needs to be strong enough to last in all working environments for many hours of use. It has to be able to transport cargo efficiently and quickly too. The machinery must be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain requires the power to continually provide great strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The engine, transmission, drive and steer axle are all isolated to decrease vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
Mazda and GM LP & Gas Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of machines offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimal repair or adjustment. These kinds of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on the majority of machinery. It features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts which give resistance when driving on rough terrain. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of preceding packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which automatically adjusts in order to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. Additionally, the auto deceleration feature reduces both brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Made for extra durability, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are practically maintenance free and completely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
To protect the steer cylinder for damage and debris, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which could add extra durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included a lot of ergonomic features and safety features. These machinery will handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
